Chair Yoga for Spring is a practice that is beneficial to all. In these classes you will use the support of the chair to arrive in yoga poses that will awaken and reenergize you as we move into Spring! Benefits of chair yoga include increased mobility, increase strength, stretch the body, reduce stress, reduce pain & clear the mind. This class is for all levels. You will need a chair, water and a towel as needed.
Ancient Energy Point Therapy; Marma point therapy is a traditional healing practice rooted in Ayurveda that focuses on stimulating vital energy points throughout the body, known as marma points, to promote physical, mental, and spiritual balance. Come learn about some major energy points and the therapeutic applications of stimulating or calming specific marma points. The class will provide a hands-on demonstration, teaching participants how to locate and work with these vital energy centers.
Warm Oil Ayurvedic Massage; Abhyanga is an ancient Ayurvedic practice of self-massage involving the use of warm, herb-infused oils applied to the body in a rhythmic and systematic manner. Come learn the fundamental principles and techniques of this therapeutic self-care ritual. There will also be a hands-on demonstration to ensure you leave with a practical understanding of how to incorporate this rejuvenating practice into your daily life for enhanced well-being. --Bring to class (optional): Sesame oil (NOT toasted), avocado oil, or olive oil in a glass bottle; ideally cold-pressed, unrefined, and organic if possible.--
This class is perfect for those wanting to feel elegant, long, and lean while strengthening your body and learning new moves. This barre class will engage muscles you wouldn't normally target—ones deep inside your body that squats, lunges and sit-ups don't reach. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles. This class is perfect for all levels. Please have a chair or wall nearby as well as a mat. You will also need water and a towel as needed.
Grounding Vinyasa Flow focusing on hip strengthening and opening. Staying close to the floor, this class with have an emphasis on the lower body and hips with a touch on tuning into our root chakra to create a sense of stability in mind and body.
Kundalini Yoga, known as the yoga of awareness, allows you to tap into your inner being to become aware of your limitations and power. It uses a combination of powerful breathwork and repetitive movements to move energy and come back into balance. In this class, we will focus on the heart space to bring in love and self-acceptance. What you need: Comfortable clothing, a yoga mat, pillows or bolster to sit on, water, and a quiet space.
Fill-the-gap Spring Smoothies--smoothies are a great way to meet nutritional needs for the day (most of us aren't eaitng enough!) This class will teach three different smoothies with different nutrition profiles to help round out daily nutrition in a fun and filling way.
