Roots of Wellness: A Family Event to Honor Mother Earth

Join Banyan Tree Women’s Collective and The Heal Project in celebrating our first family-friendly event. In honor of Earth Day we’ll gather for a day of wellness and community nestled in the heart of Half Moon Bay. We invite you and your children* (ages 5-12) to our immersive event at The Heal Project's educational farm. 

Event Highlights:

  • Mindfulness Workshops: Engage in mindfulness and gardening workshops designed for adults.

  • Farm Adventure for Kids: Children will enjoy guided farm activities and hands-on learning.

  • Seasonal Food Demo: Participate in a food demonstration featuring Earth bowls and a mindful eating exercise.

  • Community Bonding: Connect with like-minded individuals and families in a serene farm setting.

  • Hands-on Farm Activities: Get involved in farm tasks such as weeding, transplanting, mulching, or composting to learn about sustainable farming practices.

Schedule (Adults):

  • 12:30pm-1pm Arrival and check-in

  • 1pm-1:15pm Meet and Greet, Introductions, Land Acknowledgement

  • 1:20pm-2:20pm Eating with the Seasons + Nutrition Lesson, Mindful Eating Meditation

  • 2:25pm-3:00pm Weeding, Transplanting, Composting, and/or Mulching

  • 3:00pm-3:30pm Social, Raffle, Closing and Farewells

Schedule (children):

  • 12:30pm-1pm Arrival and check-in

  • 1pm-1:15pm Meet and Greet, Introductions, Land Acknowledgement

  • 1:20-3:00pm Guided farm sensory tour + scavenger hunt, nature craft, mud kitchen

  • 3:00pm-3:30pm Rejoin parents for Social, Raffle, Closing and Farewells


What to bring/what to wear: Hat and/or sunglasses, sunscreen, closed-toe comfortable shoes, clothes that can get a little dirt on them. The average temperature range for April in Half Moon Bay is 50-60F. 


Parking: Street parking is available near 300 Bridgeport Drive public park. A short walk (4 minutes, 0.2 miles) leads to the farm entrance at the north end of Bridgeport Drive. Carpooling is encouraged to reduce environmental impact.


Post-Event Exploration: After the event, explore nearby beaches or hiking trails to extend your day in nature.
