The Importance Of Supporting Non-Profits

In a world that always wants more from us, more productivity, more resilience and more balance, access to genuine, holistic wellness is more important than ever. However, for many people, accessible wellbeing often feels out of reach.

Non profit organisations like Banyan Tree Women’s Collective rely on donations, grants and other methods of support to help us run as a charity and continue our work. From partnerships to fundraising, there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to sustaining a non-profit.

In this blog, we’re going to be sharing:

  • Who we are at BTWC

  • Our philosophy as a non-profit

  • The important of non profit organisations

  • Why we need your support as a non-profit

If you’re new here, let us share a little bit about BTWC

At its core, we believe that wellness is a basic human right, not an optional extra. From emotional to physical wellbeing, there should be no barrier to wellness in 2026.

Our company is inspired and deep rooted in the imagery of a banyan tree, a symbol of strength, connection, and support. Our nonprofit focuses deeply on providing accessible wellness programming for female identifying humans across the globe, regardless of income or background.

Our philosophy as a non profit

Our philosophy spans from the four branches of the Banyan Tree:

Nutrition, focusing on nourishment that supports long-term physical health and energy.

Movement, offering practices such as yoga, strength training, and mindful movement that reconnect people with their bodies.

Spirit, addressing emotional and spiritual wellbeing through breathwork, meditation, and reflective practices.

Lifestyle, empowering participants with sustainable habits that support preventative care and everyday balance.

These four pillars make up everything we do here at BTWC, and are vital to our mission as a non-profit rooted in wellness.

The Importance Of Non-Profit Organisations

Here are just some of the reasons how supporting our wellness focused non-profit in 2026 can help us create better lives for the women we support:

  • Sustainable Wellness

The trend toward embracing natural alternative and holistic therapies is continuously growing, an increase that requires new resources and support.

Our work allows those who may be in a difficult position in life to seek accessible wellbeing support.

  • Breaking the Cycle

Less than 5% of adults participate in the recommended 30 minutes of physical activity each weekday. Our classes support those who may not have the finances or ability to focus on exercise in their current circumstances.

Studies have shown that giving individuals a diverse array of fun & creative exercise options to choose from encourages more physical activity & improved mental and physical health.

  • A Quiet Epidemic

Nearly one in five U.S. adults report having been diagnosed with depression, with around 75% of adults reporting health impacts due to stress, ranging from headaches to fatigue, anxiety & depression. We meet women where they are at, with gentle wellness tools to improve their mental clarity and overall wellbeing.

  • Access to All

Due to lack of health insurance coverage for integrative therapies, individuals often find themselves having to personally cover the costs or opt out entirely, missing the valuable relief these therapies can offer. We offer free classes, resources and workshops to continuously combat the gap in wellbeing costs.

  • Best of Both Worlds

An increasing number of individuals are turning to a combination of both conventional and alternative therapies, seeking to optimize their health through multiple mediums.

Holistic practices such as yoga, exercise, body work, meditation, mindfulness, EFT & sound therapy have been shown to help individuals reduce their stress, improve sleep, boost mood, and help to manage chronic pain.

Why we need your support as a non-profit

Everything we do at BTWC is funded by donations and grants offered to us. From our workshops, to our long term partnerships and resources.

Supporting us as a non-profit means that we can continue to fund projects for women who need our support the most. From women seeking shelter, to incarcerated women preparing to re-enter society, to women who are seeking wellness support through tough times.

By offering free and low-cost programming, the collective actively removes financial barriers that prevent so many people from seeking help. This is particularly impactful for underserved communities, where access to integrative wellness care is often limited or nonexistent.

When you support us, you’re not just contributing to a nonprofit.

You’re instantly investing into strengthening support systems, supporting women across all walks of life, and helping us to create an equal platform for wellness.
